Vintage Audio Master Compatibility Setup

There are 2 possible setups:

Setup 1: Use this setup if the Audio Master is in the same room as the Video Master and all speakers are connected to the TV (Audio Master in option 0 and Video Master in option 2).

  1. Set LinkPlayer to option 0 if the Beoport is in the same room or has no IR eye connected to it.

  2. Set LinkPlayer to option 1 or 2 if it is in a different room.

  3. In LinkPlayer > Preferences > General, select Vintage Audio Master Compatibility.

The Beoport needs to be connected to the Audio Master and the rest of the Beolink/Masterlink network. MCL/MasterLink converters can be used.

LinkPlayer is a Mac application that requires a Beolink PC2 (Beoport) interface. LinkPlayer is not a Bang and Olufsen product and is not supported by Bang and Olufsen in any way. Some features will only work with certain setups.

You can get N.MUSIC/N.RADIO from any room. Song info and track numbers are not displayed on TV or Audio Master. You cannot start N.MUSIC or N.RADIO from the Audio Master without a remote. You cannot get the Audio Master or Video Master sound on speakers connected to the Beoport.

Setup 2: Use this setup if there is no Video Master, or the Audio Master is in option 1 or 2. You need an IR receiver connecte to the Beoport. The Beoport & IR receiver need to be in the same room as the Audio Master.

  1. Set LinkPlayer to option 1.

  2. In LinkPlayer > Preferences > General, select Vintage Audio Master Compatibility.

  3. In LinkPlayer > Preferences > Sources, set all sources to (None).

  4. If your Audio Master has a free A.TAPE2 socket, connect the Audio Out of your Mac to the A.TAPE2 input of the Audio Master instead of connecting it to the Beoport. (If your Audio Master does not activate when you press A.TAPE2 or N.MUSIC on your Beo4, you can use A.AUX instead)

  5. In LinkPlayer > Preferences > Sources, set N.MUSIC to LinkMusic (or iTunesMusic).

In this setup, you cannot get N.RADIO. To get N.RADIO as well, you can split the signal and connect it to both the A.TAPE2 and PHONO sockets (attention: only possible if your Audio Master has no integrated RIAA). Alternatively you can use the A.TAPE2 socket only, and use the Menu source instead of the LinkMusic source.

On your Beo4, first press N.MUSIC, and then press 1 to choose LinkMusic or or 2 to choose LinkRadio, etc...

If you have LinkRooms you need to connect the Beoport to the Audio Master via MasterLink. Otherwise, in Setup 2, the Beoport can be left unconnected. It is needed for the IR receiver only.
